Richard Dwight Messinger

Messinger helped develop the first automated curb and gutter machine and the first four-point suspension system. He received a BA from Brown University in 1937 and an MBA from Wharton in 1939. Messinger served as Director of many organizations including: The Construction Industry Manufacturers Association (CIMA) now know as the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), North Carolina Transportation History Corp. and North Carolina Railroad Co. He also served as the Mayor of Bald Head Island, North Carolina and as a past Chairman of the Rowan County, North Carolina Board of Commissioners. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army in Europe (1941-45). Richard Messinger joined Power Curbers in 1959 as VP/GM, then elected President in 1965 and Chairman in 1981.
